Prayer Times Today
Fajr, Sunrise, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha in each city’s local time
Prayer times are fixed windows for the five daily prayers, computed astronomically from the sun’s motion at each location: Fajr begins at true dawn, Sunrise ends it, Dhuhr starts as the sun passes its zenith, then Asr, Maghrib at sunset, and finally Isha after twilight fades. The adhan is called as each window opens — the table below gives today’s Fajr and Maghrib adhan times and the remaining prayers for major cities worldwide.
Times differ between cities and countries because of coordinates and adopted calculation methods. For the full solar geometry and a comparison of the global methods, see the article How prayer times are calculated; for this site’s sources see the methodology page.

Frequently asked questions
How many prayers are there in a day?
Five obligatory prayers: Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha. Sunrise (Shuruq) is listed in the tables to mark the end of the Fajr window and the approach of Dhuhr; it is not itself an obligatory prayer time.
When is the Fajr adhan and the Maghrib adhan?
The window of Fajr opens at true dawn and lasts until sunrise, when its adhan is called; the Maghrib adhan is called the moment the sun’s disk has fully set, and Maghrib’s window lasts until the red twilight fades and the time of Isha begins.
Why do prayer times differ from one city to another?
Times are computed astronomically from each city’s coordinates: longitude sets the moments of sunrise and sunset, and latitude affects the twilight used for Fajr and Isha. Adopted calculation methods also differ between countries, so times can shift by minutes between cities and more between countries.
Which calculation method does this site use?
We follow each country’s official reference: Umm al-Qura times in Saudi Arabia, and the Muslim World League, ISNA, the Egyptian General Authority of Survey, the University of Islamic Sciences Karachi and others elsewhere. Full details are in the prayer-times calculation article and the methodology page.
