First day of Ramadan
February 8, 2027
Monday — 29 days
Time until Ramadan begins —
The Hijri date may differ by one day depending on the moon sighting and the official announcement in your country.
What is the imsakia?
The imsakia is the Ramadan month table listing, for each day, the imsak time (when eating and drinking stop) and the iftar time at sunset, alongside Fajr, Sunrise, Dhuhr, Asr and Isha. Here, imsak is computed 10 minutes before Fajr as a precaution, Fajr is the latest time for Suhoor, and iftar is the Maghrib prayer time at sunset.
Each city’s timetable is computed astronomically from its coordinates (latitude and longitude) in its local time, using the calculation method adopted in its country; in the Umm al-Qura method, Isha during Ramadan is 120 minutes after Maghrib. Frequently asked questions
What is the imsakia?
The imsakia is the Ramadan month table that shows, day by day, the imsak time (when eating and drinking stop) and the iftar time at sunset. On this site it is computed astronomically for each city from its coordinates, with imsak shown 10 minutes before Fajr as a precaution.
When is Suhoor time in Ramadan?
Suhoor lasts from midnight until Fajr; the Fajr column in the imsakia marks the latest time for Suhoor, preceded by the imsak time 10 minutes earlier as a precaution.
When is Iftar?
Iftar is at sunset — the Maghrib time in the table — as the Prophet ﷺ said: “When night falls from this side and day departs from that side and the sun sets, the fasting person breaks his fast” (Bukhari and Muslim).
Does the imsakia differ from one city to another?
Yes; Fajr and Maghrib times depend on each city’s latitude and longitude, so the imsakia is computed separately for every city using its coordinates and the calculation method adopted in its country.
