Time until Ramadan begins

Ramadan 1450 AH begins on January 16, 2029 and ends on February 13, 2029, according to the official Umm al-Qura calendar issued by Umm al-Qura University in Makkah and adopted in Saudi Arabia. Ramadan moves about 11 days earlier on the Gregorian calendar each year because the Hijri year is shorter.

This page provides a countdown to the start of the month, the key dates (Laylat al-Qadr and Eid al-Fitr), and links to city imsakia timetables showing Imsak (Suhoor) and Iftar times for every day of the month in each city’s local time, using the calculation method adopted in each country.

City imsakia timetables: Suhoor and Iftar times

How are the dates and timetables computed?

The month dates are derived from the official Umm al-Qura table covering 1300–1500 AH. Imsak, Fajr and Maghrib (Iftar) times are computed astronomically from each city’s coordinates, and Imsak is shown 10 minutes before Fajr as a precaution for Suhoor. In the Umm al-Qura method, Isha during Ramadan is computed 120 minutes after Maghrib.

Full details are available on the methodology page.
